O.M.G. (words below)
When I read the Mallorca Rocks press release which says that Rudimental are one of the best live acts on the planet, well it sounded a bit too good to be true, but it turned out to be exactly on the money. The Mallorca Rocks audience were ready for a blast and Rudimental gave it to them both barrels: the ten strong Rudimental live band stormed the stage on Tuesday night, if you weren’t there then you missed out.
Rudimental played hit after familiar hit and the 5000 strong crowd lapped it up: chanting and demanding their favourites. Even after they had finished the set the atmosphere and excited lingered in the summer air as the crowd hoped for an encore, sadly they were to be disappointed as they finished bang on midnight when all outside entertainment must turn into pumpkins in Calvia. Not to be deterred the crowd happily turned and headed for the exit: it’s the first time I’ve seen an audience collectively bounce and chant as they left a gig.
Next Tuesday is Bastille, who were the biggest selling new British act in 2013. FYI the press release says they smashed it in the States, and have been crowned the British Breakthrough Act of the year. Another one not to miss.Tickets from www.mallorcarocks.com.
